The team at Kerri Greens produce this absolutely delicious Mornington Peninsula Rose; think light, fresh, whipped forest fruits. Serve chilled and enjoy with friends – it’s a real crowd-pleaser!
Kerri Greens’ mandate is organics, sustainability and ‘treading gently’, and their approach is respectful of the region and its history. The vineyards (two in Balnarring and one in Red Hill South) are managed with a strict viticulture regime aimed at quality; with sustainable practices including no irrigation, pruning techniques invovling longevity & fruit intensity not yields, mowing undervine to avoid herbicide, inter-row cover crops for nutrition and soil structure, and spray regimes using organic principles.
For their Pinots De Mornington Rose, the fruit was left overnight to settle without any additions, then pressed the following morning. Settled in tank, racked, leaving just the heaviest lees behind before being allowed to ferment wild in a mixture of tank (80%) and old French barriques (20%).
Without the addition of sulphur the wine was allowed to go through its secondary malolactic fermentation, delivering a creamy, moreish generosity. Highly recommended!
Bottles are 750ml/12.9%. Limit one bottle per person per day. Please enjoy responsibly.
