Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ
Do you do weddings?
Whilst we would love to say yes, we actually don't!
Here's why - Melbourne has a HEAP of incredible wedding and event florists, some of which operate sustainably too. What Melbourne didn't have was good, sustainable options for deliveries for all of life's other occasions.
So we decided that because the wedding market is already full of so much talent, we would do something different and make daily deliveries our specialty instead.
Are you hiring?
We are incredibly flattered to be asked this question so frequently and would love to be able to say yes to everyone!
I remember how hard it was as a new florist to get real world experience. When we are hiring we will advertise on socials, so make sure you are following us!
how can i keep my flowers fresh?
We have instructions at the bottom of our gift cards to help you remember, but it comes down to 3 simple steps;
- Re-trim the stems and change the water every 2-3 days. If you have received a bouquet, retrim stems immediately and place straight into fresh water.
- Keep away from sources of heat such as sun, heaters and fireplaces.
- Make sure that all stems in the vase are underwater. The easiest way to do this is to keep your vase as full as possible.
Shipping questions
When will my flowers arrive?
We deliver to schools and cafes by 3pm, and homes & businesses by 5pm. Within this, we cannot estimate exact times as conditions can change once we are on the road.
Each day we create the most efficient delivery run with the addresses we have, which helps to reduce our emissions and keep our delivery costs as low as possible.
What if they're not home?
If there is a safe, sheltered spot to leave the flowers we will, so they are waiting for the lucky recipient when they arrive home.
If there is no safe spot or they have a gate or security entrance, we will need to contact them to organise what to do. Please make sure you have included their contact number as well as your own.
can i track delivery?
Whilst we do not offer tracking, we do send an email upon delivery so you will know exactly when they receive their flowers!
Returns questions
Can I return my vase?
Yes! If you have received a glass vase arrangement from us we accept returns. We will use your returned vase in another order so please ensure it is not damaged.
This is one way that we can create a more circular business model.
Include your name, phone number and email address and we will send you a discount code to use on your next order!

what about my flowers?
Flowers are a perishable item and returns are not possible with this kind of gift.
Fresh flowers will last approximately one week depending on the variety - some will last slightly longer and some slightly less.
If you have conditioned and cared for your flowers by recutting the stems, not leaving them out of water for longer than a few minutes, keeping the water topped up and they have still perished within the first few days - please contact us right away.
Whilst this is uncommon sometimes it can happen. We will be more than happy to replace the flowers. Email us at hello@botanymelbourne.com
