CERTIFIED HOME COMPOSTABLE BAGS

CHECK YOUR COUNCIL

Our wet pack bags keep the stems on your bouquets moist until they can be recut and placed into fresh water, which should be done immediately upon receiving your flowers.

These bags are made in Australia and are certified home compostable to Australian standards AS5810 (home compostable) and AS4736 (commercial compostable).

They will break down into organic matter, and can be safely added to your compost. Breaking it into small pieces will help speed up the process.

Some Melbourne councils even accept these in your FOGO (Food Organics, Garden Organics) bins.

COUNCIL COLLECTIONS

Just because your council does not accept certified compostable bin liners it does not mean they don't break down.

This simply means that your council uses a different composting plant that breaks down organic waste faster - too fast for the bags.

home compost

If you don't have your own compost system at home, check with your local community garden to see if they will accept the compostable bags in their compost bins.

If so, you can reuse them in your kitchen caddy to collect food scraps after removing from your bouquet!

compostable / degradable

What's the difference?

Biodegradable bags still break down in the environment but they contain polyethylene (plastic) which just breaks down into microplastic.

Certified compostable bags like ours break down into organic matter, not plastic.
